Baby Update

Yesterday we had our sizing Ultrasound.  We will be 35 weeks gestation tomorrow and all is going well in the baby growing department. Baby W is growing fast and furious. According to the ultrasound yesterday Baby W is already about 6 1/2 pounds with about 5 weeks to go.  Also according to the size we are measuring about 2 weeks ahead of our due date. This doesn't mean anything regarding delivery date or inducement unless we get to 40 weeks. At that time we might be talking about inducement but they would prefer to take a wait and see what's happening approach. Baby's Heartbeat sounds good and was measuring at about 127 beats per minute at this appointment.

We did not see anything we didn't want to see and unfortunately we didn't really see what we wanted to either. To translate-we didn't see any telling signs of what gender the baby is but we also didn't get to see any good profile images or see the cute face again.  She did tell us that the hand was up by the face again-possibly sucking the thumb.

My doctor and the ultrasound tech both talked about what we're talking about for size during delivery and even if we go all the way to 40 weeks we should have a baby that weighs less than 10 pounds. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. She did say 10 pounds is about the cut off before they start talking C-section.

Finally, my other big news is that I've finally reached a point where if Baby does decide to come early I have enough vacation and sick time to get me to my 1 year anniversary at work which means that I should not have any issues with FMLA.  Hooray!!
