Big News and FINALLY a new post.

I know I have been horribly delinquent with posting but as I believe everyone that reads my blog now knows....we are Pregnant.  It has been difficult to think of things to blog about without spilling the beans.  We are very excited and can't wait for our little bundle to arrive at the end of this year or very beginning of 2011. We had a great trip to Vegas for Garrett's 30th and enjoyed some time by the pool and we really enjoyed the LOVE show at the Mirage. We stayed at Mandalay Bay and enjoyed a really nice dinner at Rick Moonen's RM Seafood. It was my first sober trip to Vegas and it wasn't bad. The hard part was trying to stay up late.

Barney has been treating us to some much needed extra sleep lately. He has been sleeping in until 8 or even 8:30 one day this weekend.  It seems that he's figured out what weekends are and will still try to wake us up during the weekday. We are working on this because by the time the little one comes we need to have that in check.

I have been using the Baby Center website to track the progress.  The website switches between male and female pronouns. This in no way is indicative of what we are having. My guess is that they felt better about saying he or she instead of it. :)   Again, this is directly from the website.

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches -- about the size of a lemon -- and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

I hope to be better about blogging now that we have shared the news with all of our family and friends.
