Before & After Blinds

Almost a month ago we were very excited to install the blinds we bought with our Christmas money from my Dad & Betty.  As new homeowners we are always surprised by what we are spending money on. The exciting things like blinds, smoke detectors, etc. Who knew Home Depot and Lowe's were so much fun?

As you can see in the first picture, the blinds were old and hadn't been cleaned much. There wasn't the ability to open the shades easily as the twisting bar (okay, I obvioulsy don't know the correct term) was missing. So our options were all the way open or all the way closed.  We also determined they looked better twisted the opposite direction because the discoloration wasn't as noticeable.  Yes, the above before picture is the good side.
